7 years later, at 28 years old Bolt is in his prime. Any difference in his performance now, if he is training hard, could either be a health issue, or a doping issue. The Jamaican doping authorities were given an ultimatum in 2013 to test their athletes or else. They weren’t doing any random drug testing period. WADA is directing them now. Curiously, both Bolt and his training partner Yohan Blake have been injury prone, or just lazy and don’t train hard anymore since this has happened. While Bolt did get it in gear for the Championships in 2013, it does pose a question in some circles. Bolt is in his prime. Prior to 2013, he would tear up the circuit smoking everyone, and dropping fantastic times. The new testing procedures implemented in Jamaica may prevent certain P.E.D. cycling. I find it quite odd that a guy who previously had no problem dropping sub 10, 100 races, and sub 20 200 meter races all of a sudden is struggling. He then takes the whole 2014 off. A prime athlete should have no problem getting in the shape to run those fast times like he had been doing prior to the testing scandal in Jamaica. His training partner Blake has been hurt for two years in a row now since. The few times he has run, his times has sucked. If neither of the two still young and prime athletes ever reach their previous heights, you can attribute those previous heights to Performance Enhancing Drugs.
